The images in Unsettled Sites are documents of places rumored to be haunted or to have supernatural activity. I investigate photographically how these sites come across with the knowledge that something occurred there.
Though these photographs do not recreate for the viewer specific visual details informing a site's history they allow the viewer room to re-imagine a new history of the scene based on intuition. One landscape may emit to the viewer feelings of uneasiness while another conveys flat disappointment at feeling nothing. |
